In my opinion, updating website content is very important and should be included in the SEO process. Content update means reviewing old articles published 6 months ago and updating new content or performing further optimization.
Aspects to analyze when selecting articles to update:
- Does this article provide the best informational content for readers?
- Does it match the searcher’s intent?
- Does the article rank highly in the SERP search results rankings?
- Is it possible to improve users’ reading experience?
- Is there any information that needs updating?
- Is the content of the opponent better than mine?
- Is Onpage SEO good?
These are questions you should ask yourself before proceeding to review the content of old posts.
In addition, you can repost these posts on social networking sites to attract traffic from users.
Very likely after updating the article content, you will see these articles increase the amount of interaction (hit) and even reach the top results on search engines.
3. Search keyword
Frequency: Every 2 weeks
What is keyword search in SEO? Searching for keywords (keyword research) is one of the first steps in the SEO process.
However, finding related keywords should always be updated for the next SEO steps.
If you work with the sales team, gather information from them to know what content/topics are often mentioned in customer meetings.
From here you can identify various insights from traditional keyword searches.
4. Analyze the Search Engine Optimization On-page
Frequency: Every 2 weeks
On-page SEO tells a lot about the health of a website and how to optimize content for users and search engines – Google. Keep a few notes in mind:
- User-friendly URL
- 301 redirects when changing URLs
- Attractive title tags
- The meta description on all pages
- Internal links
- Fix broken links
- The image has alt text
- The response of the website
- Website loading speed
- Headings H1, H2, H3…
- Keyword distribution matches the topic and similar keywords (LSI keyword)

6. Optimized Featured Snippet
Frequency: Every week
What is a featured snippet in SEO? A featured snippet is a piece of content displayed on search results extracted from Google from a website in order to respond quickly to user queries.
Snippet greatly influences the CTR of pages on the Google search engine rankings, including title tags, meta descriptions, and URLs.
The more these 3 factors are related to search keywords and user intent, the higher the chances that a user will click on your page.
That’s why I perform an analysis every week on whether the snippets meet user queries on the search results table – SERPs (short for Search Engine Results Page). Was it attractive enough?
7. Reply to comments
Pay attention to the reader’s comments. The blog receives a large number of search visits every day.
Therefore, the number of comments per article is very large.
But I still try to answer most of the comments so I can answer their questions as much as possible. For me, users and visitors are always my top priority.
And trust me, replying to comments is one of the most popular methods, but it helps keep readers coming back to your site very effectively.
8. Link building
Backlink quality is the key in the SEO industry. There is no doubt that linking is one of the factors that influence website rankings on Google search engines.
I always care about the reputation and the health of the link. The purpose is to ensure that visitors to the site are the target audience.
I do this every week. But at the same time, I’m also looking for opportunities to get relevant and quality new backlinks.
9. Website design/Availability
The design of the website greatly influences the user experience when visiting your site.
I often revisit pages to see if they meet the goal of a persona. A persona is a fictional user on the basis of your website user.
I use a heatmap to know the characteristics of the user’s navigation. Such as the user focus area is most concentrated, the area where users click the most… From that updated banner position, strategic buttons of the company.
10. Advertising social networks
No matter how great you create content, it is useless if it cannot reach users. A common, simple way to achieve that is through Social Media Marketing (advertising via social networks).
Social networks like Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram… will be an effective bridge to promote content, especially when you have a certain amount of interaction tracking.
Today we use Instagram a lot and the stories feature will bring many surprising results.
It is important to understand which social networks your readers are interacting with to be able to compete in today’s fierce information landscape.
11. Analyze the opponent
Always keep an eye on your opponent and ask yourself: What is the technique/strategy your opponent is applying to do SEO?
In this case, I’m not just talking about competitors in the marketplace but also competitors on the search results page.
When I talk about digital marketing and online businesses, our competitors are often SEO experts. And so I keep an eye on the different tactics so I don’t get left behind.
Once again, I would recommend SEMrush as it is one of the most complete tools on the market for comprehensive analysis.
12. Manage data (metrics)
This is an essential task to measure your efforts and know-how of the website/blog works.
The first task of every day is to analyze the blog’s performance and check for suspicious behavior (both positive and negative).
Tool hints: Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
The metrics I usually analyze are:
- Unique visitor per day
- The number of accesses
- Page view
- The most visited pages
- New users vs recurring users
- Page bounce rate
- Length of stay
Every business has its own characteristics. So sometimes you need to analyze some other relevant indicators that your business needs to be concerned about. Of course, the data in the e-commerce industry will be different from a blog site already.
Identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is one of the first steps in starting any business. In this way, you can determine what percentage of speed and quality you have achieved.
The report helps us locate other departments within the company related to the SEO work we are developing. From there, bring an interesting comparison of the results achieved.
